Ras El Hanout Pulled Beef Sandwich
Tender, spiced pulled beef with Ras El Hanout, served on crusty bread with pickles and fresh herbs. A hearty, aromatic Moroccan-inspired sandwich.

- 3 tbspOlive oil
- 1 tspSalt
- 0.5 tspBlack pepper
- 1 tbspTomato paste
- 1 tbspFresh lemon juice
- 4Garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tbspRas El Hanout spice blend
- 2Large onions, sliced
- 1200 gBeef brisket or chuck roast
- 500 mlBeef broth
- 6Crusty sandwich rolls or buns
- 150 gQuick pickles or coleslaw
- 100 gFresh cilantro and mint leaves
Instructions
Brown beef: Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F). Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown beef brisket on all sides, about 8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Cook aromatics and spices: Add sliced onions and minced garlic to the pot, cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in Ras El Hanout spice blend and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Braise beef: Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, fresh lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Return beef to pot. Cover and braise in the oven for 3-4 hours until very tender.
Shred and reduce sauce: Remove beef and shred with two forks. Strain braising liquid and return to pot with shredded beef. Simmer until sauce reduces slightly.
Assemble sandwiches: Toast crusty buns if desired. Fill each bun with pulled beef, quick pickles, and fresh cilantro and mint leaves. Serve warm.
