- 500 gAll-purpose flour
- 200 tbspSugar
- 3Large eggs
- 100 gButter, softened
- 2 tspAnise seeds
- 1 tspBaking powder
- 0.5 tspSalt
- 50 gSesame seeds
- 1 tspOrange zest
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs: Beat in eggs one at a time until well combined.
Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, anise seeds, sesame seeds, and orange zest.
Combine: Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
First bake: Shape dough into two long logs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and firm.
Cool and slice: Cool for 10 minutes, then slice diagonally into 1-cm thick biscotti.
Second bake: Stand slices upright on baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
Cool and store: Cool completely on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.
